The Main Idea: HOLY CRAP THIS BOOK IS AMAZING. Seriously. Starts with a bang and definitely ends on one. PLEASE at least take a stab at this one even if you were unsure about Across the Universe. This one is a million times better!

Oh. My. Goodness. I wish I could take back my rating of the first book, even though I would still call it around a 4.5 out of 5. But, this one. This one was like A MILLION SUNS better than the first! (did you see that awesome play on words I did there? Pretty proud of myself.)

The story started of with a bang. I loved that I already knew the characters and the world of Godspeed so I didn't have to sit through page upon page of world building. With that out of the way, the action started pretty much immediately. Shocking realizations, more questions, mysteries, and even murderers. The book captured my attention the ENTIRE time. Which is saying a lot, considering Across the Universe kind of lacked in that aspect (and even then, I loved it!).

However, I still remain confused on how I feel about Amy and Elder. I know everybody is like... ohh they are so precious and cute together! But I'm not sure... I feel like they both still have a LOT to work on with themselves before they should be committing to one another. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it. Hah! Another pun. Gosh, I'm good.

Really, that's all I need to say. I loved it. It was amazing. The mysteries and twists and turns are OUT OF THIS WORLD (literally. wow, i need to stop.). And, that ending will leave you wanting SO MUCH MORE. Ahh I can NOT believe I have to wait till January 2013. WHAT IS THIS BETH REVIS? WHY? WHY? WHY?

And on that note: This review (or lack thereof) is now complete.

The main idea: Unearthly was a book dealing with a normal girl dealing with normal teenage stuff. Except- she is an angel and has a divine purpose that she must complete. This book had plenty of love interest, conflict, and enough questions to make you ITCHING for the next book.

I surprisingly really, really enjoyed this book. I got it for .99 on my eReader and thought maybe I'd glance at it one day if I had the time. But... angels? Really? I've done wizards, vampires, and even demon slayers.. but angels? I wasn't so sure. (Obviously I need to work on getting out of my comfort zone...) But, surprise, surprise, it was awesome!

What I liked:

1. Real girl. Hand really depicts Clara as a real girl. As in, the book is not ALL about her being an angel. Yeah, obviously it has big effects on her life (hello moving to another state because of a vision you have?!), but she also was a "normal" teenage girl. She fought with her mom (a lot), crushed on guys who- shocker- were just normal human beings, and even made some friends. 

2. Boys. I actually was down with both the boys in this book. I liked them each for different reasons, and that ending really got me confused! So, I have no team. I am teamless. But anyways, both boys were great. Neither of them were jerks (which is my BIGGEST pet peeve.. when a character falls for a complete jerk), and they treated Clara with respect. They were both portrayed as being smoking hot. Especially Tucker though... rugged, tan cowboy? Alright. Can't wait to get Hallowed in my hands so I can try to figure out who I like better!

3. Just enough paranormal. Obviously this book is paranormal... it is about angels. But, as I've said earlier, that's not what all of it was about. Yeah, that's basically all I have to say about that.

What I didn't like:

1. Clara fighting with her mom 24/7! I understand she was mad at her for not giving her more answers. Or for expecting her to be only focused on her "divine purpose." But seriously? She is your mom. Give her a little more respect!

2. Lack of action. I went into this book expecting a little more action than I got. Luckily, I've been reading lots of action books lately so it didn't bother me too much. But, I got the feeling that the next couple of books will definitely be more action packed!

I really would pick this up if I were you! I wish I had a physical copy... the cover is so pretty!

Top Ten Books on My Shelf I'm Dying to Read

Hey everyone! 

So today, the top ten tuesday theme at the broke and bookish is a 

FREEBIE.

So, I am choosing to talk about 10 (11 actually... oops)

books off of my own bookshelf that I am dying to read.

1. Pretties by Scott Westerfeld. I read the first one in this series recently and really enjoyed it! Definitely want to finish reading this series soon.

 

2. Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare. I just really need to catch up with all her books.. so badly!

3. Five Flavors of Dumb by Antony John. Had this one for a while... supposed to be an amazing contemporary!

 

4. Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys. I've wanted this one forever. Finally bought it. Need to read it. Historical fiction taking place during the Holocaust. 

 

 5. Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld. Bought this one recently but still really want to read it. I've just heard great things, and I love adventureish books!

6. Gone by Michael Grant. Yet another dystopian series I am dying to get into!

7. The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness. ANOTHER dystopian trilogy I want to read! Also, male point of view!

8. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. Enough said. For real.

9. Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor. This paranormal romance has gotten SO much attention this year! Excited to be swept away into a new world!

10. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. Definitely reading this one next month. No questions. I've heard this is INSANELY good. Her touch is lethal? WHAT.

11. A Million Suns by Beth Revis. AHHHHH. I'm reading this one ASAP. I loved Across the Universe and CAN'T wait to get into this sequel!
