JUST FINISHED IT.

I don't know what it is about John Green. He's a fantastic YA writer because he writes for us but not "at us." He doesn't change truths or lighten them or insult us with too much fluff. He's honest. Funny. Sad.

you should read the book.

Sorry we've been lacking in posting. Will be writing much more frequently soon.

In Ireland right now. SO beautiful!!

happy reading.
Camden is the queen of her universe until her best friend shreds her
reputation and her school counselor axes her junior independent study

other students don’t find her too queenly. Ostracized by her former BFs
and struggling with her beloved Grams’s mental deterioration, lonely

love with the radio station and the misfits who call it home.

contemporary with a spunky, very likeable main character! Definitely one
to pick up for a quick, enjoyable read.

One of the big things
that can keep me from loving a book is the main character. Is he/she
whiny/stubborn/stupid/etc.? If the answer to one or more is yes, then I
am annoyed and very likely to be frustrated with the book. But Chloe?
Chloe is none of the above. Chloe was fun, determined, spunky, and had a
great attitude. I absolutely loved her!

When Chloe's friends
desert her, her Junior year independent study project is rejected, and
her mother and grandmother's relationship falls apart- Chloe refuses to
do the same. She jumps on board with the school's radio station she (and
the rest of the student body) didn't even know existed and decides to
start her own talk show. Hilarity, heart-break, and heat (in some cases
even literally) ensues.

I would definitely recommend picking up this cute contemporary as soon as you can get your hands on it! An adorable read!

I took ballet.
And no, I don't mean until I was 7.
During my high school years, I spent at least three days a week at the studio (usually more during performance or recital season). Looking back, I realize that was kind of a lot considering...

A. I am not a ballerina.
B. Like, I don't even take a single, crappy ballet class in college.
C. I wasn't even that good.

But the truth is, I loved it. Still do.

So my point it is, I wanted to read this book.

And I really liked it! I probably won't read it again, but I definitely enjoyed the story. The main character, Hannah is decent, but not just oozing in the personality department. But that kind of makes sense. She's overly disciplined. Her life is rigid, she works full-time, all the time, she lives alone....and she's only nineteen.

It's a simple enough story. Girl loves to dance. Girl dances all day, everyday. Girl wants to be promoted. Girl works her butt off. Literally. Girl must decide.

There's a cute boy. Another rich boy. A triangle? sort of.

Lots of dynamics with characters. You see the "best friend" the "friend you love but hate" and the "annoying friend."

But really, the book is about making choices for yourself. It's about figuring out what is actually the best thing for you. It's about deciding who exactly you want to be down the road. I was definitely satisfied in the end, even though it is somewhat bittersweet.

So yes, even if you don't know the difference between a plié and a posé, I think you should read it!
Main Idea: All

not much Alex, at all... which is a total bummer, it is still a

Hmm...
well, first of all, this book was NOT what I was expecting. I'm not
really sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't that.

However, I did really enjoy this book, hence the four star rating. I
am all about a book with action and fast pacing, and save the first
50-75 pages, this book totally had that. I also loved the changing
timelines aspect of this book- the way it switched from then and now.
However, the "then" part always bored me a bit. I liked the "now" part
much better!

A new person was also introduced, Julian. Although, I can't tell you
how he fit into the story. That would be a spoiler... But the
adventures she and Julian find themselves in were definitely very
exciting!

For the most part, I saw all the major plot twists coming as most
people have expressed which was kind of a bummer. There were a few
smaller ones that I didn't see coming though, so those were always nice
surprises!

Stella Chavez is your classic good girl: straight As, clean-cut boyfriends, and soccer trophies . You’d never guess that Stella’s dad was a drug addict who walked out when she was a kid. Or that inside, Stella wishes for something more.

New girl Ruby Caroline seems like Stella’s polar opposite: cursing, smoking, and teetering in sky-high heels . But with Ruby, Stella gets a taste of another world—a world in which parents act like roommates, college men are way more interesting than high school boys, and there is nothing that shouldn’t be tried once.

It’s not long before Stella finds herself torn: between the best friend she’s ever had and the friends she’s known forever, between her family and her own independence, between who she was and who she wants to be.

But Ruby has a darker side, a side she doesn’t show anyone—not even Stella. As Stella watches her friend slowly unravel, she will have to search deep inside herself for the strength to be a true friend, even if it means committing the ultimate betrayal.

She's drama-free, non-confrontational, and committed to her family, friends, education, sports, and just about everything she does. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive

He wants to believe in the magic his grandfather has always told him about, but he knows it can't be true, especially now that his grandfather has gotten very senile and mixed up about everything. But the trip to the place his grandfather always told him about turns out to be more than he bargained for...
And I'm ready for the next book.
16-year-old Laura della Scala learns that her older sister, Beatrice,
has drowned, she is given no time to grieve. Instead, Laura's father
removes her from the convent where he forcibly sent her years earlier
and orders her to marry Beatrice's fiancé, a repulsive old merchant
named Vincenzo. Panicked, Laura betrays a powerful man to earn her way
into the Segreta, a shadowy society of women who deal in only one
currency—secrets. The Segreta seems like the answer to Laura's prayers.
The day after she joins their ranks, Vincenzo is publicly humiliated and
conveniently exiled. Soon, however, Laura begins to suspect that her
sister's death was not a tragic accident but a cold-blooded murder—one
that might involve the Segreta and the women she has come to trust.

Main Idea: I would recommend picking up this book if you are in the mood for a quick, not too intense mystery/historical fiction book. It was very enjoyable from start to finish and definitely had me guessing!

This was one of the first historical fiction books I have read in a while, and I really enjoyed it! We follow Laura as she is released from the convent her father left her in to discover that her best friend and older sister, Beatrice, is dead. Her father now expects her to act as her older sister, acting as the proper girl that society deems appropriate. She has also been pledged to marry her sister's fiance, Vincenzo who is basically completely disgusting. She learns about the Segreta, a secret society who promises to help her as long as she gives them a secret. And then the story goes on from there.

I loved the whole mystery aspect of the story. She is very suspicious that her sister's death was not an accident, but a murder. However, she begins to suspect the very society she has taken an oath to be a part of. So, yeah, that was very intense and intriguing! There is also a very attractive Italian man that Laura meets who has a few secrets of his own up his sleeve.

I enjoyed the story, however it wasn't very complicated at all. It was kind of point-blank... not much else going on besides the main plot of the story. But, sometimes simple is good! All in all, this was a historical fiction story that I really enjoyed!
Main Idea: If you were like me and have burnt yourself out on dystopians, fantasy,
realistic fiction, or whatever, hop on over to your local library or
Okay, so this review may seem kind of random, considering this book came out like years ago, however, who doesn't love some Meg Cabot?

This is actually the first Meg Cabot book I have ever read. shocker. I know. But, I've been so busy trying to keep up with the latest and greatest books that I have let older books fall to the side. But I'm so glad I picked this one up.

Y'all, the premise is weird. Like what actually happens is crazy! But I can't give it all away, but basically our main character, Emerson gets knocked out and wakes up in a super famous super model's body. Wait, what? Yep, that's actually what happens. Before she "became" a famous super star, she was a cheerleader hating, videogame playing tomboy. So, imagine her surprise when she wakes up and realizes she has to be a supermodel for the rest of her life. That would be a shocker. So the story pretty much follows Em and crazy antics that ensue after she begins to live in someone else's body.

To be honest... I'm not even sure what really even happens throughout the whole book. It is just a whirlwind of funny scenes, funnier scenes, and outrageous predicaments. And, it is a trilogy! So, I will definitely be picking the other two up soon.We Need Readshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08153398775879542052noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6739515227299370947.post-83875498551006276782012-03-10T16:56:00.000-06:002012-03-10T16:56:06.499-06:00100 FOLLOWER GIVEAWAY

she discovered that nothing about being part angel is as straightforward
as she thought.
Now, torn between her love for Tucker and her
complicated feelings about the roles she and Christian seem destined to
play in a world that is both dangerous and beautiful, Clara struggles
with a shocking revelation: Someone she loves will die in a matter of
months. With her future uncertain, the only thing Clara knows for sure
is that the fire was just the beginning.
In this compelling
sequel to "Unearthly," Cynthia Hand captures the joy of first love, the
anguish of loss, and the confusion of becoming who you are.

The Main Idea: THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING. It includes a love triangle I actually like, drama, suspense, and romance. Pick it up regardless of whether you like paranormal or not!

Y'all... I love this series. Unearthly was great, but Hallowed blew me away! Who would have thought I would love an angel book so much.

When I read Unearthly, I couldn't decide which team I was on. Team Tucker or team Christian?! But as much as I loved Tucker, I couldn't help but feel that Clara was supposed to be with Christian. You find out more in this book which one she must/will choose. While a lot of people were saying there wasn't a whole lot of Tucker in this book, I noticed him in there a lot! The battle for Clara definitely heats up between the two boys and her choice gets even harder.

One thing I loved about this book is that SO many questions were answered. It was actually a huge relief. I hate not knowing what is going on. Some of the revelations were seriously SHOCKING, and one particular revelation about had me in tears (which is big, because i NEVER cry in books). This revelation carries big weight in this story, and really puts a serious emotional twist on the book.

I could go on forever, but long reviews are rather...well... long. So, that is all I will say for now. But, please, if you have read Unearthly, go pick up Hallowed now!
Main Idea: HOLY SMOKES THIS BOOK IS EPIC. A fairy-tale retelling of Cinderella with a cyborg as the main character equals FANTASTIC READING.

Guys, this book was SO SO good. First of all, I think it is important to know what a cyborg actually is, because I had to look this up like 30 pages into the book. I thought a cyborg was JUST a machine... so I was so confused on how she was having feelings and thinking like a real person. Well, come to find out, a cyborg is part human AND part machine. Blew my mind.

While this book has parallels to the fairytale of Cinderella, that does not mean this book is predictable.. at ALL. I was pretty much shocked and excited the whole time I was reading it. The twists and turns are awesome. And we all know how much I love twists and turns :)

We really only get to know Cinder in this book, though. There aren't many secondary characters that really stand out. But, guess what?! This is a trilogy! So, that I'm sure we will get to know prince Kai and all of our other characters a little bit better :)

Okay, so go pick this book up now please!
The Main Idea: This book is a beautifully written and thought-provoking contemporary that is well worth the read.

I was so
excited when I was accepted for this book on Netgalley. I had heard
nothing but good things. This book is a contemporary set in Australia
that takes place over a 24 hour period. It is told in multiple point of
views, but normally focuses on two main characters (Lucy and Ed). Lucy
is a glass blower and is obsessed with finding out who "Shadow" is. All
she knows is that Shadow makes great works of graffiti art all over the
city with his sidekick, Poet (Leo), who writes "social commentaries" on
or around Shadow's work. Ed, who is Shadow (you find this out at the
very beginning of the book... no spoilers!), is trying to get over his
boss dying, losing his job, and dropping out of school.

The book
focuses on one night where Lucy and her two friends (Jazz and Daisy)
spend the night hanging out with Ed, Leo, and Dylan (Daisy's boyfriend).
The night focuses on Lucy and Ed's adventures. Lucy wants to find out
who Shadow is, and Ed volunteers to help her out.

I think for
me, 24 hour books are hard. I feel like I don't get to know the
characters well enough. It makes it harder for me to believe whatever
love story is happening. However, even with that being somewhat
difficult for me- I still loved Lucy and Ed. You could tell from the
beginning they were perfect for eachother.

Their antics are
funny, they have good chemistry, and their mutual love of art is
beautiful. I really enjoyed this quick contemporary. I thought it was a
beautiful work. We Need Readshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08153398775879542052noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6739515227299370947.post-54695439383452732652012-02-19T17:47:00.003-06:002012-02-19T17:47:51.638-06:00IMM (12)STEP SING IS OVER.
